Discover the Nile and the Pharaonic monuments perched on its margins while strolling through Nubian villages and observing the agricultural life on the banks of the river.  Magnificent hikes in the heart of the traditional Egypt of the farmers.  A journey on the edge of the Nile that tells stories of fishers and the countless birds which populate its banks.

Detailed Itinerary

* D1 - Meet and assist at the Luxor airport.  Transfer to the hotel *** and check-in.
* D2 - Luxor - Aswan
Minibus transfer to Aswan.  Visit the High Dam. Also visit the Unfinished Oblisk and the Temple of Philae dedicated to the goddess Isis (with a historical guide).  Lunch and stroll throught he colorful souq in Aswan.  Board the felucca and stop at Elephantine Island.  Night on board the felucca.
* D3 - Aswan - Ballouly Island
In the morning, walk beside the canals that cross through the Nubian villages from the west bank of the river.  Survey Nubian architecture and traditional handicrafts.  Afternoon and evening sailing on the felucca.
* D4 - Daraow - Kom Ombo
Hike to the Daraw market, a very animated and colorful place where you'll see many Saidis (Egyptians from Upper Egypt) in their traditional dress rushing about.  Lunch and sail to Kom Ombo.  Visit the temple dedicated to the Crocodile god and the Falcon god.  Sailing and night on board the felucca.
* D5 - Quarries of Selsila - El Fauza
Three hour hike along the canals under the shade of the date palms and fruit trees.  Climb a small plateau and then, there we are, in the desert dominated by the curves of the magestic Nile.  Continue to the pharaonic quarries of Silsileh.  Visit the quarries and the Tomb of Horemheb.  Lunch.  Sailing and night on board the felucca. 
* D6 - Edfu - Gourna
After an hour of morning sailing, we arrive at Edfu.  Visit the Temple of Horus (with a historical guide) and then minibus transfer to Luxor.  Check-in at the hotel on the west bank of the river at Gourna.  Lunch and a visit to the temple complex of Medinat Habu (with a historic guide).  End the afternoon with some free time.  Dinner and night at the hotel in Gourna.
* D7 - Luxor
Visit the Valley of the Kings and Temple of Hatshepsut (with a historic guide).  Lunch.  In the afternoon, we cross the Nile with the local ferry and after a ride on a horse-drawn carriage, visit Karnak (with a historic guide).  Finish the afternoon with some free time.  Night at the hotel in Gourna.  In the evening, it will be possible to visit the Temple of Luxor or to attend the Sound and Light show at Karnak (optional, at your expense).  
* D8 - Luxor
Transfer and accompaniment to airport. 

Our Boats
In addition to feluccas, we have chosen to use a Boutra, a small motor boat with a deck, which serves as a kitchen and on which we dine.  During the day, we travel by sail.  All of our feluccas are equipped with life vests.
