Impact Craters Region
Using satellite images, a team of scientists recently discovered over 1,000 craters distributed over an area of 40,000 square kilometers in the Eastern region of the Gilf Kebir Plateau. Only 62 of these have been studied. Two theories exist explaining the origin of these craters. They may be hydrothermal vents or impacts from fragments of a rubble-pile asteroid.
Equipped with Toyota Land cruisers, modern navigation instruments, and a passion for the desert, you will embark on a 14 day adventure into the heart of the Libyan Desert.
